FAQ
Questions, answered straight
The things capture and proposal managers ask us most — about what the tool does, and how your competition-sensitive material is protected.
What Orals Coach is — and isn't
›What does Orals Coach actually do?
It's a rehearsal coaching tool for teams preparing oral presentations in competitive procurement. You upload the RFP, your written proposal, and the rules of engagement; your team records practice run-throughs. Orals Coach then tells you where the presentation will lose points: which evaluation factors were addressed, partially addressed, or missed; where spoken claims contradict the written proposal; how timing compares to plan; and which tough Q&A questions to drill.
›Does it rewrite my proposal or edit my slides?
No — and that's deliberate. Orals Coach never rewrites your proposal, generates slides, or changes a single word of your materials. It is a coach, not an author: it analyzes what your team says against what your proposal promises and shows you the gaps. Your content stays exactly as your team wrote it. (The deck check reads your PowerPoint file to verify compliance — slide count, fonts, animations — but never modifies it.)
›Who is it for?
Capture managers, proposal managers, and presentation teams pursuing government and other competitive procurements — federal, state, local, and education. If your pursuit includes an oral presentation, interview, or evaluated Q&A, this is built for you.
›Does it replace our orals coach or consultant?
It complements them. A human coach shapes delivery, presence, and story; Orals Coach does the part no human can — holding your entire 200-page proposal in memory during every rehearsal and checking every claim, factor, and rule against it. Many coaches use it to make their engagements sharper.
Data security & confidentiality
›Is my competition-sensitive material safe?
That concern shaped the entire architecture. Your documents are processed only to produce your analysis: proposal text is encrypted at rest with keys unique to your organization (on top of infrastructure-level encryption), all traffic is encrypted in transit, and every organization's data is strictly isolated — no other customer can ever query or retrieve against your content.
›Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your content is never used to train AI models, and our AI provider is configured for zero data retention — material sent for analysis is processed and not kept. We also never sell data or use it for advertising.
›Who else touches my data?
A minimal set of infrastructure providers, each receiving only what its function requires: Supabase (database and sign-in), Anthropic (AI analysis, zero-data-retention), Deepgram (speech transcription), Voyage AI (semantic search indexing), and Stripe (payments — card details never touch our systems). The full list and details are in our Privacy Policy.
›Can I permanently delete a pursuit?
Yes — at any time, irreversibly. Deleting a pursuit hard-deletes every associated record (documents, transcripts, analysis, Q&A) and generates a verifiable deletion receipt — record counts, timestamp, and a cryptographic hash — that you can hand to your contracts officer as proof of destruction.
›Can other people at my company see my pursuits?
Access is scoped to your organization's account. Only people who sign in under your organization can see its pursuits — and nobody outside it ever can.
Credits, pricing & practicalities
›How do pursuit credits work?
One credit = one procurement. Creating a pursuit spends a credit, and everything inside it is included — unlimited-feeling document analysis, rehearsals, coaching, Q&A practice, and compliance checks (generous fair-use limits apply). New accounts start with one free credit, and the demo pursuit is always free. Buy packs on the Billing page.
›Why did my sign-in link say it expired?
Corporate email scanners often "click" links to inspect them, which uses up one-time sign-in links before you can. That's why every sign-in email also contains a 6-digit code — type the code on the sign-in page instead; it works on any device. Tip: add signin@myoralscoach.com to your contacts so codes reach your inbox.
›What file types can I upload?
RFPs and proposals as PDF, Word (.docx), or plain text (you can also paste text directly). Rehearsals as audio or video recordings — or paste a transcript. Slide decks as PowerPoint (.pptx) for the compliance check.
›Is the AI always right?
No AI is. Every finding comes with the evidence — the verbatim quote, the timestamp, the proposal citation — so your team can verify in seconds and stay the final judge. Treat the output the way you'd treat a sharp colleague's notes: an excellent starting point, reviewed by professionals.
